Liverpool receives orders to sign £100m-rated attacker
The transfer window has seen several clubs linked with big money transfers but Liverpool have been unusually quiet so far. The Reds have spent big in previous windows bringing Van Dirk last year January and Alisson last summer.
One area where the Reds are particularly weak is in the midfield. Liverpooldepends solely on their front three of Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane. While the midfield id workmanlike in nature.
Former Liverpool footballer Steve Nicol believes that JurgenKlopp can resolve this issue by bringing Coutinho back to the club.
Speaking to ESPN Nicol urged his former club to move for the player as he would be the perfect fit for the club.
According to him, the former Inter Milan midfielder has the ability to improve the team by bringing creativity and crucially goals from the midfield.Coutinho is also a player that would not need to adapt to the Premier League.
Coutinho is a player that divides opinions at Anfield due to the nature of his exit from the club in January 2018. The Brazillian was well loved at the club but forced a move from the club in the middle of the season.
His time at Barcelona has been far from perfect and his case is similar to CescFabregas who never found his touch at the Spanish club.
Nicol is right as Coutinho remains a quality player as seen in the Copa America where he has become the main player for the team due to the injury of Neymar.
Despite this, it is highly unlikely that Liverpool would be willing to pay £100 million for the player when they could get Bruno Fernandes or Nabil Fekir for half the price. However, Coutinho’s return would be the perfect fit for the current Liverpool squad and only time would tell if a move is possible.
